CBI ARRESTS AN ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF MSME DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE FOR ACCEPTING A BRIBE OF Rs. 15,000/-

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Assistant Director of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Development Institute, Hyderabad for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. 15,000/- from the complainant.
A case was registered U/s 7 of PC Act 1998, against an Assistant Director, MSME Development Institute, Hyderabad on the allegations of demanding a bribe of Rs.15,000/- from the complainant for submitting favourable report with reference to the application submitted in complainant’s wife’s name with NSIC for participation in the Central Government Stores Purchase Program.
CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. 15,000/- from the complainant. Searches were conducted at the residence of the accused which led to recovery of cash of Rs.3,76,050/- (approx.), promissory notes worth Rs.23 lakh (approx.), signed blank cheques and some incriminating documents.
The accused was produced before the Special Judge for CBI Cases, Hyderabad and remanded to Judicial custody.
